1. General Information

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of psychological counselling, personal development, empowerment coaching and related consultation services offered by Tessa Dongelmans, M.Sc. Psychologist.

They apply to individual sessions and session packages, whether conducted online or in person.

By booking a session, clients agree to these Terms & Conditions, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

2. Nature and Scope of Services

Tessa Dongelmans holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Psychology and offers psychological guidance, counselling and personal-development support.

Sessions are designed to encourage self-awareness, personal growth, emotional well-being and greater clarity in navigating personal or professional challenges.

Tessa Dongelmans is not a medical doctor and does not provide medical treatment or regulated psychotherapy.

Services do not include medical diagnosis, prescription of medication, or treatment of physical or mental illnesses.

Counselling and coaching are not substitutes for medical, psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment.

Clients who experience symptoms of a physical or mental health condition should consult a qualified doctor or appropriately licensed healthcare professional.

These services are not designed for emergencies or crisis intervention. In an immediate emergency, clients should contact local emergency services.

3. Confidentiality

All sessions are conducted in a private, respectful and confidential environment.

Information shared during sessions, including personal circumstances, emotions, experiences and discussions, is treated confidentially.

Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties without the client's consent unless disclosure is required or otherwise legally permitted under applicable law.

Any personal data collected in connection with counselling sessions will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy.

4. Appointments and Booking

Sessions may be booked through the website's online scheduling system or by direct arrangement.

The duration, price and format of each session will be communicated before booking confirmation.

Unless otherwise agreed, an individual session lasts approximately 60 minutes.

A booking becomes binding once it has been confirmed.

Tessa Dongelmans reserves the right to decline a booking or discontinue a counselling relationship where the requested services fall outside her professional competence or where continuing the professional relationship would be inappropriate.

5. Fees and Payment

The applicable fees are those communicated at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise agreed, the standard services are:

  • Individual session (60 minutes): €97

  • Package of five individual sessions (60 minutes each)

Five-session packages may be scheduled flexibly and do not have a fixed expiry date unless otherwise expressly agreed.

Payment arrangements will be communicated during the booking process.

Any outstanding payments must be settled according to the agreed payment terms.

6. Cancellation and Missed Appointments

Clients may cancel or reschedule a scheduled session free of charge at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.

Cancellations should be made through the booking platform or by contacting Tessa Dongelmans directly.

For appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, or where a client does not attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the agreed session fee may be charged, subject to applicable German law.

Where legally applicable, clients retain the right to demonstrate that no financial loss occurred or that the actual loss was substantially lower than the amount charged. Any expenses saved or replacement bookings will be taken into account.

For prepaid session packages, a late cancellation or missed session may be deducted from the remaining package balance under the same conditions.

If Tessa Dongelmans needs to cancel an appointment, clients will be offered an alternative appointment or, where appropriate, a refund or credit for the affected session.

Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

7. Client Responsibility

Counselling and personal development are collaborative processes.

Clients are encouraged to participate openly, honestly and actively while recognising that they remain responsible for their own decisions, choices, actions and well-being.

Clients are responsible for determining whether additional medical, psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, legal or other professional support is appropriate for their circumstances.

Advice or guidance provided during sessions should not be interpreted as instructions requiring a particular personal or professional decision.

8. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Tessa Dongelmans undertakes to provide services with reasonable professional care and diligence.

However, personal development and psychological counselling are individual processes influenced by numerous factors.

No particular outcome, result, improvement or personal transformation is promised or guaranteed.

The absence of an expected outcome does not, by itself, establish that the services were improperly performed.

9. Limitation of Liability

Tessa Dongelmans does not accept responsibility for clients' independent decisions or actions taken following counselling sessions solely because those decisions or actions were discussed during the sessions.

Liability for damages caused by ordinary negligence is limited, where legally permissible, to breaches of essential contractual obligations and to foreseeable damages typical for the contract.

This limitation does not apply to damage arising from injury to life, body or health, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable German law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions restricts clients' mandatory statutory rights.

10. Online Sessions

For online sessions, clients are responsible for having a functioning internet connection and choosing a private, suitable environment.

Reasonable measures will be taken to protect the confidentiality of online communications, although complete security of internet-based communication cannot be guaranteed.

Sessions may not be audio- or video-recorded by either party without prior express agreement.

11. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Where a statutory consumer right of withdrawal applies to a distance or off-premises contract, clients retain that right in accordance with German law.

For qualifying contracts, the withdrawal period is generally 14 days from the conclusion of the contract.

Where a client expressly requests that services begin during the withdrawal period, the applicable statutory provisions regarding payment for services already provided and the possible expiry of the withdrawal right after complete performance apply.

Any required withdrawal instructions and withdrawal form will be provided separately before the contract is concluded.

The 24-hour appointment cancellation policy does not replace or restrict any applicable statutory withdrawal right.

12. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in the client's country of habitual residence remain unaffected.

13. Amendments

Tessa Dongelmans may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect legal, operational or service-related changes.

Changes will not automatically alter the contractual terms of bookings already confirmed.

The current version will be published on the website.
